Mandela’s Election: 30 Years Later

This month marks 30 years since Nelson Mandela became South Africa’s first democratically elected president. However, the story of Mandela’s rise to the presidency isn’t all that simple. The four years between Mandela’s release from prison and his election to the presidency were some of the most violent in South Africa’s history. That’s the story you’ll hear this week, as we revisit the election chapter of one of our favorite releases: Mandela: An Audio History.
