"A microphone is a magic wand, waved against silence. A recorder preserves the stories that microphones catch. And radio casts the stories to a broad audiencebringing us together in special ways. We need more young voices, young stories in our lives. Make your microphone magical. Break our silence."Anyone can make a radio diary. That's one of the great things about them. The equipment is relatively inexpensive, and the process is not that difficult. If you or someone in your community has a story to tell, get a mic, a recorder, a pair of headphones, and get started. If you have questions, check out our reporter handbook or drop us an email. We are working on our Educator's Page. If you are interested in using sound documentaries as an educational tool, check back soon. Also, check out our radio colleagues' websites. We've learnedand continue to learna lot from them. Our Teen Reporter Handbook can be used by anyone who wants to try conducting interviews or documenting their life for the first time. You read it online, download a .PDF or buy it at our shop. If you buy it, you not only support Radio Diaires, but you'll get a FREE CD! |
