Guest Spotlight: Ear Hustle

This week we’re sharing an episode from our fellow Radiotopia show, Ear Hustle. Ear Hustle is produced inside San Quentin State Prison, in California. The show tells stories about life during and after incarceration.

This episode, “The Five Senses,” is the first in Ear Hustle’s new season. It’s a beautiful, funny, and surprising story about the ways being incarcerated colors your sense of smell, touch, taste, sight, and hearing – from the feel of a mattress to the scent of an orange.

You’ll also hear the sounds of San Quentin, from the flush of a prison toilet to frogs croaking in the early morning.
